Botanical surveillances

Monitoring of the botany in the bog has been carried out both before and after the cows were put to pasture. The monitoring took place at 3 stations with ten points in each.

The project period is very short (less than a year) and the floristic changes are still limited. Station 2 differs from this by being significantly affected by clearing, so that the cover of woody plants in the test fields is reduced to a third. Correspondingly, the average number of species has increased by almost 50%. For the other two stations, no changes in species density or floristic content can be ascertained.

Within the 3 stations, there is still a large preponderance of test plots that cannot be characterized as habitat nature. More than 20 sample fields out of the monitoring's 30 sample fields are categorized as 7200-lime-rich bog. Eight fields are type-specified for 7230 sedge and one for 7210 chaff. Of the many 7200 fields, some fields have a potential for the development of 7230 ore, but a significant proportion is without potential.
