Hydrological studies
We have chosen to let Cowi A/S carry out the hydrological feasibility studies.
The investigations will mean that Cowi will visit the properties in the bog a number of times over the course of the next year. The visits will be organized so that there is minimal inconvenience in relation to the owners' own use of the properties. In the month of April, a number of measuring tubes will initially be placed in the bog, which will be used to measure the water level from when Cowi visits the bog. In addition, three electronic water level loggers will be set up that continuously measure the water level and send the measurement to a server. All plot owners have received an information letter with an indication of the location of the individual pipes. When the results from the investigations are available, a joint lot owner meeting will be held, where they will be presented. From the beginning of 2019, the property survey will be carried out, where Cowi will try to find out, through conversations with the individual plot owner, whether the proposed measures in the hydrological feasibility study can be carried out.
The hydrological studies showed that it was not physically possible to significantly change the hydrological conditions in Gammellung Mose.
The only change that proved possible was to run a drainage course from the southern fields around the bog. This was carried out in 2019. The purpose of the diversion is to remove the nutrient-rich water from the surrounding fields from Gammellung Mose. The nutrient-rich water contributes to poorer conditions of the vulnerable nature types and to overgrowth in the bog.
